When entering Arboleda, expect to be overwhelmed but in the best possible ways. First, there is visual appeal, offering eye candy in every direction, including a majestic living tree in its main dining room. Second, there is the success story, even in the face of struggle, behind the eatery. Brothers Mitchell and Steven Rosenthal first met now-partner Björn Kock while the three men were working at Wolfgang Puck’s Postrio in San Francisco more than 20 years ago. The chance meeting led to two decades of successful restaurant collaborations, notably with Town Hall Restaurant, Anchor & Hope and Salt House, all in California. They long wanted to create something together in Arizona. And finally, there is the food.
The menu is a celebration of flavors primarily from Spain, Italy, Greece and Morocco, but with kisses of other global inspiration where it makes sense.
